Thank you to the employees of AluChem Specialty Alumina in Reading for collecting and donated more than 80 coats, hats and gloves for children in our care.

Children may come into our care suddenly and lacking basic necessities like warm clothing. Donations like this help us meet their needs quickly.

AluChem’s Bethany Davisson said the 18 employees at the local facility decided to collect the coats and spent about a month gathering them.

“The foster care program is near and dear to my own heart and who is more deserving than abused and neglected kids,” Davisson said.

AluChem – Specialty Aluminas for Ceramic Applications

2016 is an exciting year for AluChem as we continue to navigate our strategic plan of investment in infrastructure, expansion and growth of our Specialty Aluminas Product Portfolio. In 2015 AluChem commissioned a soda reduction facility in Little Rock, Arkansas for the manufacture of low and ultra-low soda Calcined, Reactive and Tabular Aluminas utilizing proprietary purification technology. In 2016 we will complete installation and start-up of a new high-tech AC99 Tabular Alumina screening circuit in our Cincinnati, Ohio plant which will focus on precision screening and tightly controlled particle size distributions. These two significant additions to AluChem’s North American Specialty Alumina manufacturing and production capabilities are critical to our continued growth and focus on process control and product development for the Advanced Ceramics, Investment Casting and Refractories industries. These investments are the most recent examples of AluChem’s continued unyielding commitment to producing the highest quality, most tightly controlled Specialty Alumina products in our industry.
